In June 2017, Metro opened its 88th store in Binhai New Area, Located in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, middle and high-end community life supporting shopping center in China. Close to 400,000 square meters of Landscape Park, serves to the surrounding 400,000 high-end consumer clusters.

Metro Binhai New Area Shopping Mall has a business area of about 4,300 square meters, providing consumers with 17,000 products. The supermarket make full use of local resource advantages, 100% of live fish commodities, 90% of the ice fresh fish and all the fresh fruits and vegetables are local purchased, also there are a lot of dairy products from Tianjin local suppliers.

Cryotek Refrigeration equipped Metro with low temperature subcritical cryogenic CO2 unit, medium temperature parallel unit CRK8400 – SMY, high temperature parallel unit CRK5175 - SHY and a series of matching sub-cooled condensers. The requirements for all cooling temperature segments are included.

The biggest highlight of this project was the adoption of subcritical cryogenic CO2 unit at Metro. The requirement of high efficiency refrigeration, energy saving refrigeration and environmental refrigeration is achieved by the natural gas of CO2.
